Great landscape paintings are achieved through confident use of color, well articulated light, strong composition, and accurate drawing. Thomas Caleb Goggans, a nationally recognized contemporary naturalist painter, will help each attendee gain a deeper understanding of color, a greater mastery of materials, and confidence in composing an image. Participants with learn about applying an organized approach, developing a clear vision, and creating inspiring artwork through demonstrations, info loaded talks, personal critiques, and outings to paint from life in nature.

Selection of Painting Surfaces
Premade Panels, Stretched canvas, or other surfaces suitable for oils. Sizes should be no smaller than 6″x9″ and no larger than what your easel/pochade can support properly in a plein air setting.

Easel
Portable Easel or Pochade Box system (Open Box M, Plein Air, Strada, Edge Pro, NewWave, Richeson French easel & palette, etc) – if a palette isn’t integral to your easel/pochade, a hand held solid surface palette will be necessary. NO paper palettes.
