Love the look of etching but don’t have the time, budget or space for all the chemicals and equipment?
Drypoint etching is an intaglio printmaking technique that uses the power of lines to create a finished work of art. The process utilizes metal tools to scratch into plastic plates creating a beautiful etching like finish without the use of harsh chemicals. Students will be experimenting with various mark making techniques to create texture in their pieces, and have the opportunity to work on multiple pieces. Working from photo references, this class will walk students though the drypoint process from materials to press work.
