Time: 5p-8P

Join us for an evening session of book art and printmaking in our studio every final Thursday of the month! This drop-in event is designed for book artists and binders, print artists, and creative people who are interested in learning more about the book arts and printmaking with the intent of coming together for a casual evening of instruction and mutual inspiration. Bring your latest project, take advantage of our studio printing press and enjoy the company of other artists.

During the March Artist Book & Print Night, we will begin the evening with Neenah artist and Richeson Gallery Manager, Emily Runnerstrom. Emily will teach the double pamphlet stitch with cover book structure. This is a simple yet elegant book structure that comes together quickly. Emily will teach this lesson at the beginning of the evening after which participants are welcome to explore the lesson taught or work on their own projects. Minimal supplies will be provided for this project. Visit our website for a suggested list of supplies and tools.

We will provide some paper for the initial demonstration. Please bring the following tools and materials:

  • One large sheet of 90#-140# paper suitable for the book cover
  • Paper suitable for book pages – 60#-75# drawing paper or printer paper
  • Large sewing needles – upholstery needles work. They should be sharp and sturdy. No plastic darning needles – to thick and too dull
  • Sturdy thread – Linen is best but upholstery thread also works
  • Beeswax (optional)
  • A folding bone (we do have some to use if you do not have one)
  • Ruler
  • Pencil & eraser
  • Cutting blade & Cutting mat

We will also have some show and tell! Bring your book projects that you want to share with everyone!

Different instructors will join us for the following final Thursdays. Join us for diverse instruction in the book arts and printmaking!
