May 3, 10a – 4p

Plein Air is the classical tradition of painting outside. This course sets the groundwork for how to approach plein air painting. In this one day, class instructor Nathan Brandner will break down key components of working in the field including materials/ equipment setup and a hands-on approach to painting outdoors on site. This class is a great start for future plein air painters and a great refresher for artists looking to start the season off right! Students will comfortably be able to explore the materials indoors before moving outside to paint.
The class will begin at Richeson School of Art & Gallery at 10am; there will be a lecture on materials and how to set up your painting gear in the studio. We will then depart for our painting location as a group. Students must provide their own transportation to the painting location, no more than 10 miles from Richeson School of Art & Gallery.
