Entries & Jury Fees
This competition has a commitment to submit fee of $50.00. Included in this fee:
- 1 artwork submission (jury fee)

- 6 color set of Casein (Naples Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Shiva Rose, Ultramarine Blue Deep, Titanium White, Ivory Black)
- 1 – #8000 Series Round Brush, Size 6
***The retail value for this package is over $95.00. The package will ship out to artists within 1 week of participation registration is submitted via the online registration portal and the $50.00 entry fee has been paid.
Only online submissions are accepted. Mailed or delivered entries on CD/DVD are NOT accepted.
The artwork submission portal will open in January of 2026. All registered participants will receive an email notification with instructions on or before January 9, 2026.
Artists may enter up to 6 artworks. A maximum of 1 artwork per artist will be selected as finalists.
Artist Registration (commitment to submit) Fee is $50.00 and will include 1 artwork entry.
Additional entries may be purchased for $10.00 each, maximum of 6 entries. The opportunity to purchase additional entries will be available when submitting the artwork.
By deciding to enter this competition, the artist acknowledges that the entry fee is used for jurying and is non-refundable.
Entry Photo Requirements
Image Name: lastnamefirstinitial_titleofpainting *All Lowercase, No Spaces* (ex: Anna Smith’s painting named “Dog Spots” should be saved as smitha_dogspots.jpg)
Image Size: Images must be 300ppi (pixels per inch). Shortest side of the image must be at least 5″ at 300ppi. Hi-resolution digital images only are accepted. (Example: Anna Smith scaled her image to be 1500px x 2700px (5″ x 9″ at 300ppi.) Hint: File size should be around 1MB, if image is smaller than 600KB, image is not Hi-Res.
Image Type: Save the files as a .jpg or .jpeg file at “high” or “maximum” quality (10, 11 or 12).
YES: Artwork ONLY; in focus, uniformly lighted with no distortion; high resolution; painted signatures are acceptable.
NO: matting/framing; lighting on one side; glare; distortion; pixelation (low-res)/web images; digitally altered/enhanced, digital signatures.

Jack Richeson & Co., Inc. reserves the right to withhold awards if jurors deem submitted entries to be below minimum standards of excellence. Juror decisions are final.
Any images that do not meet these specifications may be disqualified and discarded without being considered by the jurors and the jury fee will be forfeit by the artist. These are the images that will be used if your art is selected: Make sure they are good!
Artwork Requirements
MEDIUM: Only wall-hung (2-D) art may be entered and must be created using Casein. No photography, digital art (enhanced or created) or 3-D art/sculpture is allowed.
ARTWORK SIZE: There are no size restrictions for this competition.
CREATION DATE: after October 1st, 2025
Eligibility
- Artists must be over age 18.
- All work entered must be original in concept/execution.
- No work done in a class, workshop or under supervision.
- Employees of Jack Richeson & Co. may not enter Richeson Sponsored competitions.
Everything Else
Image Use
By entering this competition, the artist gives Richeson School of Art and Gallery the right to use submitted images for The Casein Exhibit digital, print and web promotions.
Awards Jurying
The Awards Juror for this competition is To Be Announced. Award winning paintings will be selected from the digital images submitted upon entry to the competition.
Preliminary Jurying
Selection of finalists will be based on digital images. Finalists will be selected by a committee of qualified art professionals. Preliminary Jurors will be respected, highly qualified artist/instructors, curators, or collectors of note. The preliminary Jurors will view the submitted digital images to make his/her award selections.
Show/Exhibition
The top 25 paintings will be selected to be featured on the Richeson Gallery Casein 2026 online exhibit. These 25 selected paintings will be eligible for awards.

Award Restrictions
Merchandise awards have no cash value. Standard shipping for merchandise in the contiguous 48 United States is included in the prize, but charges for remote delivery, special delivery or international deliveries are the responsibility of the winner/participant. Cash award winners (USA) will be required to provide a W-9 prior to receiving the funds.
Sales
Work need not be for sale to be eligible for the exhibition. Inquiring collectors will be provided contact information for the artist whose work they wish to purchase, and all transactions are between the buyer and the artist. Richeson Gallery will take no commission of sales that occur as a result of this online exhibit.
Other Conditions
Artists agree to abide by all contest rules by their entry. Failure to comply with these rules in any manner constitutes withdrawal from the competition. If Jack Richeson & Co., Inc. deems the pool of entrants insufficient, the competition will be cancelled, and all jury fees will be returned to entrants. This Prospectus shall be governed as to validity, interpretation, construction, effect, and in all other respects by the laws and decisions of the State of Wisconsin, without regards to its conflict-of-law provisions. The Artist hereby irrevocably consents to the jurisdiction of the courts of Outagamie County, Wisconsin with respect to any matter arising under this Security Agreement, and further irrevocably consents to service of process by hand delivery to the address listed above for the Artist.
