Understanding the structure of the human body is key to creating believable works of figurative art. In the class taught by artist Will Dickinson, students will develop their ability to correctly perceive the model’s main movements and to verify proportional relationships. Students will identify light and shadow, create relief through tonal progressions in the light and, understanding anatomical landmarks, see simple abstract shapes, and will end up with a foundation to make the transition from drawing to painting a figure easily and effectively.
