The rewarding experience of en plein air painting (French for painting in the open air) also comes with its particular set of challenges. In this introductory class, award-winning local artist and educator, Clay Roberts will lead students in the processes of getting started – from setting up your materials to making your first marks, inspired directly from your outdoor environment!
All supplies are included in this class. There will be a 30-minute break for lunch.
Clay Roberts is an award-winning artist and educator living in Appleton, Wisconsin. He currently paints portraits and en plein air throughout the Fox River Valley, capturing the beauty of this region in his landscapes. Clay is an accomplished art instructor working for the Kimberly Public School District, and providing group lessons to local youth and adults. His paintings can be found in private collections throughout the Fox River Valley, and across the nation from New York, to San Francisco.
