Whether it’s a favorite furry friend or an elusive creature in the wild, animals are both engaging and challenging as a subject matter. In this class, pastel artist Darcy Doiel will share techniques for capturing the appearance and personalities of animals. From building a solid foundation to working with tricky textures like feathers and fur, students will leave class with an understanding of how to work with this fun subject and the confidence to tackle greater animal challenges. Students may work from references provided by the instructor or bring in printed images of their own to use as their subject matter. All materials are provided. There will be a break for lunch.
