Water and rock are essential parts of many landscape and seascape compositions. However, both have a variety of characteristics. Water is reflective, transparent, translucent, rippling, flowing, calming, or a combination of these qualities. Rock is solid, unmovable, layered, has a sense of age and strength. Students in this class will explore the varied and unique ways water and rock can be presented as a visually stimulating part of any composition. Award winning pastel artist Chris Behrs will guide students through the process of creating both elements, contrasting the unique qualities of each in their paintings. All supplies are included. There will be a break for lunch.
Chris Behrs is an award-winning artist and member of the Pastel Society of America. An art teacher in Cedarburg Wisconsin, he has been president and is current a signature member of the Wisconsin Pastel Artists.
