It’s all about the process! Playful, intuitive, and exploratory, making artworks using cold wax medium is an exciting process of discovery. This workshop is for the artist who has had some basic experience with oil and cold wax methods but wishes to learn some new techniques and develop their skills further. Students in this class will review basic cold wax methods and then move into an exploration of creating transparent layers, adding texture, adding collage components, using stencil methods, and more! Color theory and design will be the underlying components that will allow the possibilities of this diverse medium to emerge and succeed.
All supplies are included in class fees for students to make 2-3 pieces during class. However, students with works in progress are invited to bring them. Beginning students interested in taking this class are encouraged to take Jane Hostetler’s class, Introduction to Cold Wax on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 10am to 1P
