Using the Photo as a Reference

SEP 26 • 10a – 12:30p

Instructor: Nathan Brandner

Cost: $55 (all materials included)

This class highlights the pros and cons of using a photograph as a reference. The photograph can be a useful tool in the right hands or a hindrance to the untrained eye. In this class, students will learn what makes a useful photograph for a reference and what pitfalls come with the use of a photo. We will learn to break down photographs and learn to edit with an artistic license the elements in our photos.

Students are encouraged to bring 15-20 high-resolution photographs they have taken either printed or on a laptop/tablet but NOT on their phone!
