Learn what it takes to paint a portrait from a reference. Not all pictures are taken equally. In this class, students will understand what makes a good reference photo and how that impacts their final painting. Pick up some of the basics of portraiture, and learn how to execute a successful painting in oil from a photograph. We will also walk through the exhibit and learn from the Richeson Gallery permanent collection before tackling our own paintings. All materials included. There will be a break for lunch.
